You have entered the Web Site for The Roadrunners of Nevada County, California
The Roadrunners are a non-profit travel club comprised mostly of young at heart and fun loving senior citizens who like to travel. The club was founded by Lucille McCrea of Rough & Ready. Lucille “retired” from the daily operations of the club and is now involved with arranging cruises only. Most of our members live in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area; however we also have some members in Auburn and the greater Sacramento area. The Roadrunners have two meetings each month. The first is a potluck held on the second Monday of the month. October through May we meet at the Grass Valley Vets building and from June through September we meet at Condon Park. The second meeting is held on the last Friday of each month at the Mountain Mikes in Grass Valley. These meetings allow the members to sign up for trips as well as to pay for them. In addition, the meetings provide a venue for socializing with friends and meeting new ones. There are no fees or dues associated with The Roadrunners. We are able to keep the prices of our trips very low because board members and tour directors are volunteers. Once you attend a meeting or go on a trip with us, you are automatically a member. We publish a bulletin called Along The Trail every couple of months which lists the tours we are offering. This publication is available through email or you can pick one up at meetings. Hallie, club Treasurer, and Ronnie, club President also function as the tour directors and put together all of the trips. Ronnie keeps track of sign-ups and Hallie keeps track of payments. We ask that folks pay for trips as soon after signing up as possible. However, if someone has not paid for a trip 30 days in advance, their name will be moved down to the wait list and the folks on the wait list will be moved up in the order in which they signed up. On longer trips we publish the date deposits are required, as well as when balances are due. Payment Policy
1. We would appreciate payment at time of sign up
for all day trips. NEW CANCELLATION POLICY
We usually offer two fun day trips a month as well as a regularly scheduled gambling trip the first Friday of each month to either an Indian Casino or one in Reno. We also do cruises occasionally as well as a few long trips each year. As an example, in 2010 we went on a 10 day trip to Costa Rica, a 6 day trip featuring the Oregon Coast, and a show packed tour of Branson, Memphis and Nashville. The cruises in 2010 included ten days each to Alaska and the Mexican Riviera. In 2012 we took a trip to the Hawaiian Islands To view the planned activities, click on any of the months or items listed below.
